This unit, in its many different configurations, is used to operate equipment such as yard locomotives, car movers, underground / surface mining locomotives and many other types of mobile equipment. Two snap-in rechargeable batteries provide power for up to 10 hours of continuous operation. The weatherproof portable unit is made of strong, lightweight polyethylene and includes sealed switches and a full "O" ring perimeter seal. The Portable Unit can be programmed to operate on any pre - approved frequency and identification code. Safety and operating procedures can easily be changed to suit customer's requirements. The transmitter can include a tilt detector which automatically protects the operator but does not respond to normal movements such as bending, climbing or lifting. The Railmax is a full-feedback system capable of monitoring all of the important functions of the RVU and sending this information back to the remote operator to be shown on the Chestpack Unit's illuminated LCD display.
